The activities in Holy Week have begun with the solemn steps (processions) of Palm Sunday, in the capital of Seville, Spain, these have been presided over by the Archbishop of Seville, Monsignor Saiz Meneses.

Given this, the Holy, Metropolitan and Patriarchal Cathedral Church of Santa María de la Sede y de la Asunción of Seville opened its main door so that hundreds of tourists could appreciate part of its architectural style.

The Cathedral of Seville has scheduled various liturgical times. In which the various brotherhoods are also expected to arrive with their respective religious images, after walking the streets of the city.

During his homily, Saiz expressed “let us try to live these days with attention, depth, contemplating the immense love of God for each one of us that is manifested especially in the cross.”

Although it is true that the Cathedral of Seville receives tourists all year round, they must reserve their entry in advance, which is why at the beginning of the Semana Mayor, tourists from all over the world take the opportunity to visit it, although, of course, there are some restrictions due to logistics issues.
