Cabañas did not go beyond a 1-1 against San Miguel at the Sensuntepeque Sports Center and added its third consecutive draw, while Santa Ana Municipal had a feast of goals at the Alonso Alegría Gómez Stadium by beating Cuscatleco 6-0 at the close of matchday 31 of the 2023-2024 Lottery Cup in the National Football League (LNF).
The bulls, leaders of the LNF with 73 points, came from a 0-0 at home against San Salvador on matchday 29 and a 2-2 against Ahuachapán at the Arturo Simeón Magaña Stadium on the previous date, so they extend their ties to three matches without knowing victory.
The bulls and the garrobos closed the first 45 minutes with a 0-0 and the goals came until the second half, but after 90 minutes there was no winner.
The first score for Cabañas came until the 50th minute through Mateo Arévalo, however, the advantage did not last long for the hosts and the Migueleño team achieved the tie with Levis Lazo’s goal in the 63rd minute. The 1-1 remained until the end.
For the Miguel team it was the seventh tie and a good result since despite the setback they managed to remain immovable in the third box with 66 points.
Cuscatleco 0-6 Santa Ana Municipal
Santa Ana thrashed Cuscatleco at the Alonso Alegría Gómez Stadium in Cojutepeque, a match in which Juan Carlos Gil stood out with a hat-trick and Cristian Caicedo with a double.
The Santaneco team resolved the game in the first 32 minutes by taking a 4-0 lead and completed the rout with two goals in the second half.
Johan Mancía was in charge of opening the scoring just in the 11th minute and Cristian Caicedo expanded the score in the 17th minute. With the game under Santaneco control, Caicedo scored again in the 23rd minute to achieve his double and put the scoreboard at 3-0.
The fourth score was signed by Juan Carlos Gil who celebrated his first goal in the 32nd minute and the forward with the number 34 hit the net again in the 55th minute to make it 5-0.
The last score of the game was scored by Gil himself in the 58th minute to complete his hat trick and become one of the key pieces of coach Edgar Batres.
With the result, Santa Ana Municipal reaches 56 points, the same as Usulután with whom it shares fourth position in the LNF.
The day was completed with the 8-0 beating that San Salvador gave to Ahuachapán at the Las Delicias National Stadium, a duel in which Juan Sánchez was the figure, scoring five times.
With the little hand he gave to the border team, Sánchez reached 40 goals and remains the leader in individual goals, while the capital team remains firm in second place with 70 points and was only two behind the leader Cabañas.
Sergio Mosquera was also the protagonist with three scores which he scored at minute 9, 12 and 25.
