If the company does launch this version, it would be the first in the Series X line to feature this difference, which could make the console’s price even more interesting.
In addition to the absence of the disc reader, it seems that Microsoft took the opportunity to also bring some improvements to the new version of the console. According to information provided by the Exputer website, the heatsink of the new Xbox Series X was also the focus of upgrades and was updated, which could contribute to better thermal performance and a smoother gaming experience.
Price not yet revealed
And, of course, as expected, the absence of a disc reader will make this model more attractive in terms of value. According to the leak, the console will be sold at a lower price than the currently available version, which is priced at around US$499 in the United States, approximately R$2,400,000 at the current price.
Despite the exciting information, there are still many scant details and no official confirmation from Microsoft. The Exputer leak did not mention whether the planned changes to the “Brooklin” system, leaked in FTC court documents, will be implemented in this new version of the Xbox Series X.
The new version of the console has also been the subject of other speculations, which have not been confirmed by the website, such as the possible presence of a USB-C connector. From the leaked images, it is not possible to see this type of feature.
