ISIS is besieged in its “last square” in Sirte

Military sources from the Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous forces affiliated with the Libyan Government of National Accord reported on Sunday that ISIS has become besieged in its “last square” in the city of Sirte (450 km east of Tripoli), and that government forces are continuing their advance despite the organization’s fierce resistance. For its part, the main hospital in Sirte announced that it suffers from a shortage of medical equipment necessary to treat those wounded in the clashes.

The sources said that the Libyan Air Force contributed to the intense bombing of the Ouagadougou Hall Complex (a huge hall complex in Sirte), which is the last main stronghold of ISIS in Sirte.
According to the media center of the Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous forces, during the battles since last Friday, government forces took control of the entire 700th district, located in the center of Sirte.
This neighborhood represents a strategic location separating government forces from the organization’s last quarter.
In a related context, Misrata Central Hospital announced that it received five dead and 71 wounded from Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous forces yesterday, Saturday.
As for Sirte itself, Al Jazeera correspondent Ahmed Khalifa reported that the main field hospital of the Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous forces was suffering from a shortage of medical equipment necessary to treat those wounded in armed confrontations.
He added that the hospital’s medical teams confirm that a number of international humanitarian organizations have made promises to provide medical and logistical support to these hospitals, but none of these promises have been fulfilled so far.
More than a month ago, the military forces formed by the Presidential Council of the Libyan Government of National Accord began launching a military operation called “Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous” against ISIS in the north-central region of Libya, especially in Sirte.
