Almost 50 national strategists are part of the International Beach Soccer Coaches Course taught by Brazilian coach Gilberto de Souza, three-time Best Coach of the Year, World Champion with the Brazilian national team in 2017 and gold medal winner at the Games. Beach World Cups (2019).
The activity, organized by the National Sports Institute of El Salvador (INDES), began today and will end on March 17, and takes place at the Beach Soccer Stadium, located in the Flor Blanca Sports Complex.
In the first talk, the main topics were about the methodology, game strategies and the importance of teaching the practice of this modality at an early age, as well as the focus on soccer techniques on the sand.
The practical session started at 5:00 in the afternoon, where the points seen in theory were put into practice and included the participation of players from the BS-UES team.
One of the attendees was the Selecta de Playa coach, Rudis Gallo, who said that the learning that this course will leave will make national coaches visionary and prepare better, all with the aim of further professionalizing this modality.
“This training is important, not only for the LFP coaches, but also for me, taking into account who the trainer is. “This is the beginning to transform us from an amateur to a professional phase, since what we are looking for is high performance for the league teams,” said Gallo.
In that sense, Rudis recognized that better preparation by the LNF coaches will have a positive impact and will lead to better prepared players and a more competitive selection even in the selection processes.
“If the teams have high performance, the team will have competitive players. That is why this training is very relevant for everyone,” explained the national team coach.
Meanwhile, Homer Velásquez, coach of the Barra de Santiago men’s team, was interested in learning new strategies and recognized that receiving this course prior to the start of the LFP is positive for everyone.
“These types of courses are important for the development of the modality, for the coaches of each team. Personally, I think that this course, after the creation of the league by INDES, is something very necessary for us and the rest of the teams,” Velásquez began.
Regarding the topics they received in the first talk, the coach of the current LFP champion clarified that he found the topics presented by the world champion coach interesting.
“What we have seen now in the first theoretical session has left us thinking about what we still need to know, there are topics that we do not handle and now we will begin to put them into practice. Having a coach of this level will help us improve our way of directing,” said Homer.
