Harvey Moeis, Husband of Sandra Dewi, Named Suspect in Tin Commodities Corruption Case with Crazy Rich PIK Helena Lim: 6 Things to Know

Jakarta

Husband of actress Sandra Dewi, Harvey Moeis, became the new suspect in the case of alleged corruption in the trading system of tin commodities in the PT Timah Tbk Mining Business License (IUP) area for 2015-2022. This case is suspected to have resulted in environmental losses of up to IDR 271 trillion.

Summarized detikcom, Friday (29/3/2024), there are already 16 suspects in this tin commodity corruption case. Apart from Harvey, recently the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) named crazy rich PIK Helena Lim as a suspect.

Here are 6 things about the lead case investigated by the AGO after Harvey Moeis became a suspect:

1. The case involving Harvey Moeis

The case that ensnared Harvey Moeis as a suspect was the same as the case that ensnared ‘crazy rich’ Helena Lim. He is suspected of being involved in a corruption case in the trading system of tin commodities in the PT Timah Tbk Mining Business License (IUP) area for the period 2015 to 2022.

“After carrying out an intensive examination, the investigative team deemed that there was sufficient evidence, so we upgraded the person concerned to his status as a suspect, namely HM’s brother, as an extension of PT RBT,” said the Director of Investigations at the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the Attorney General’s Office, Kuntadi. , at the Attorney General’s Office, South Jakarta, Wednesday (27/3) evening.

2. 16th suspect

Kuntadi said Harvey was a suspect in his role as an extension of PT RBT. Harvey is said to have contacted the former President Director of PT Timah Tbk in 2016-2021, MRPT alias RZ.

“As for the position in this case, around 2018 to 2019, Brother HM contacted the Main Director of PT Timah, namely Brother MRPT or Brother RZ in order to accommodate illegal mining activities in the PT Timah IUP area,” said Kuntadi.

“The person concerned is in the capacity of representing PT RBT, but not as a PT RBT administrator,” he added.

3. Harvey’s role

As is known, MRPT was also previously named a suspect by the Attorney General’s Office in the same case. Kuntadi said that after the communication, Harvey had a meeting with RZ. As a result of the meeting, it was agreed that the illegal mining accommodation activities should be covered by renting tin smelting processing equipment.

“Next, suspect HM contacted several smelters, namely PT SIP, CV VIP, PT SPS and PT TIN, to participate in the activity in question,” he added.

Furthermore, suspect Harvey asked the smelter to set aside a portion of the profits generated. The profits, said Kuntadi, were then handed over to Harvey as if they were corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds facilitated by the Manager of PT QSE, Helena Lim (HLN), who was already a suspect.

Harvey is also the 16th suspect in this case. For his actions, Harvey is suspected of violating the provisions of Article 2 Paragraph 1, Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of the Corruption Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to 1 of the Criminal Code.
