The international striker George Giakoumakis placed for the online attacks he received after the missed penalty in the “final” against Georgia.
Returning to America, the 29-year-old forward posted on social media a picture of him hugging his children, calling on those who attacked him online to find the meaning of life.
His post in detail:
“Traveling over 20 hours to get back home I never stopped to think that I didn’t keep the promise I made to my wife and children. That is to say, I will come back a winner! A promise I had made 4 months ago! This is also the reason why it broke me the most.
I have received countless wishes in the last 24 hours and I can only wish for these same people that sometime in the near future they will find the meaning of life as I have and receive such hugs and love as I received today, because apparently they did not never until now in their life from their family.
YG: Many of them from yesterday were made by acquaintances, my friends.
Thank you for the messages of support! I appreciate you immensely.”
