Last Christmas had David Lindgren, 41, a bad day at work. The artist was tired and never really got going before tonight’s show, he tells Aftonbladet.
When, at midnight, he sang the classic “O helga natt” on Bingolotto’s sit-down evening, his voice suddenly cracked live.
What were you thinking the second the voice cracked?
– I was extremely disappointed in myself. The whole day I felt off and when I was going to take that high note, my body physically couldn’t handle it. The fact that it was a live broadcast also added an extra layer of anxiety, says Lindgren.

Turned off the cell phone
The clip of the visibly disappointed artist quickly spread on social media. After the performance, Lindgren turned off his mobile phone.
– I fretted for a few days and was bitterly disappointed with my performance.
When he finally went on Instagram, his comments section was packed. But not out of criticism.
– It was a shock. I have probably never received so much love from colleagues and from people I have never met in my entire life. Many recognized themselves and others were just peppy and nice.
