Bernard (33) lives in Melle
He calls himself a homo universalis who can do a bit of everything, but is not really good at anything – although that could easily be an asset in De mol. When Bernard’s mind isn’t in the game, he’s probably thinking about those other two existential things in life: the cosmos and… football. “If there is alien life in our universe, I would like to play football against it,” the teacher noted. Fortunately, his other big dream, participating in De Mol, is something easy to fulfill.
Charlotte (26) from Antwerp
Charlotte, or Lolo to the friends, is the youngest member of the group. The pharmacist lives with her boyfriend in Antwerp and, as is the local tradition, wears her heart on her sleeve. Not ideal in a game like The Mole, we think. “I always laugh when I tell the truth, which makes a lot of people think I’m lying,” she says. That is another characteristic that she can use in the game. Although it remains to be seen whether the other candidates can also call her ‘Lolo’ by the end of the program.
Coco (31) from Aarschot
From Lolo, to Coco, who in turn is actually called Marta. The nickname of the Aarschot nurse, who moved here from Mallorca six years ago, is a shortened version of her surname Corbillo Colom. Only last year did she discover the existence of The Mole and immediately binge-watched all the seasons. Talk about ideal preparation. If you have children who speak Spanish: put them to bed early. Because Coco may speak Dutch, but she swears in Spanish.
Gillian (27) from Gullegem
According to Gillian, horse riding, Formula 1 and darts are not sports, but competitive hobbies. And before you shout at this text in disgust, it won’t help: Gillian won’t change her mind. Fortunately, the technical artist is cheerful and very enthusiastic, so he will immediately win back your sympathy. It is hoped that opposing candidate and arborist Michaël pays close attention before he starts tackling this tall guy of 1.95 meters.
Michaël (41) from Grembergen
An arborist with a boomer image for his son, let that sink in. Michael signed up to get rid of that image. This lively 41-year-old resident of Grembert is the father of a 13-year-old son and a daughter who will be 2 forever. He is also a plus-dad to two older children, which means he is now also a grandfather. Michaël is a sports and nature lover, two qualities that he manages to combine in his job as a tree caretaker.
Karolien (46) from Ghent
The Ghent native immediately proves that Karolien is a perfect candidate for De Mol. Until the broadcast of Café de mol, her two teenagers thought that their mother was on a group trip to South America last fall and could not be reached due to a crashed mobile phone. So she can already lie. The question remains what the students of this Audiology teacher at the Arteveldehogeschool in Ghent will think about this. She is already loved by them, because she does not give assignments between lessons. Something that can always happen in De Mol.
Lynn (38) from Antwerp
Getting used to De Mol’s many cameras would not have been too difficult for her. Although Lynn, who works as a video maker, is usually safe behind it. The Antwerp woman, born in South Korea, was convinced by her daughter to participate in the program. Whether her naturally chaotic character will be an asset in that already chaotic game remains to be seen. She can already lie, she says: “Although it is morally difficult for me.”
Philippe (53) from Mortsel
To be called ‘old age dean of the group’ you don’t always have to be old. This is proven by 53-year-old manager Philippe, who used to be a professional dancer with choreographer Alain Platel. He recently became a grandfather, but he still has crazy hobbies such as freediving, salsa and kitesurfing. If pompoms still need to be sewn onto that old-age blanket, you can ask Philippe. Although that does take some time. The last time he made a pompom it took three years. However, he immediately became the record holder for the largest pompom in the world.
Senne (28) from Borgerhout
Senne lives with his girlfriend in Borgerhout, but is first and foremost a thoroughbred Kempen son. The tattoo of a ruff on his right leg proves this. His friends know well enough that he could be the mole. “When it comes to board games, I always say it in advance: keep an eye on me because I will cheat if I get the chance.” If the social worker appears in the program for a long time, everyone will definitely be walking around with a mustache this summer.
Stéphanie (35) from Hasselt
The fact that the Limburg woman with Tunisian roots ended up in De Mol is part of her YES year. “For a year I said ‘yes’ as much as possible to everything that crossed my path.” And that results in participation in the program. The fact that this season takes place in Sicily is a considerable risk for the nurse in the operating room. She always carries an EPI pen with her to combat her allergies to cheese, wine and tomatoes.
