Niantic announces an extension of the Primal Kyogre Raid Day event
Niantic, the company behind Pokemon Go, has announced a two-hour extension for the Primal Kyogre Raid Day event due to widespread server issues that disrupted the gaming experience for players. The event, which spans globally, allows players to participate in a challenging Raid battle against the powerful Primal Kyogre legendary Pokemon.
Return of Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon
Pokemon Go announced the return of two iconic characters, Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon, during the World of Wonders season. These highly sought-after Primal Legendaries are scheduled to appear in the game on March 4, 2024.
Primal Kyogre’s Raid Day event details
Primal Kyogre’s Raid Day event was initially scheduled for March 17, 2024, from 2 PM to 5 PM local time. Trainers from all around the world awaited the three-hour event to challenge and capture this formidable Pokemon. However, due to server issues that hindered gameplay in certain regions, Niantic was compelled to extend the event by two hours in all regions to compensate for the inconvenience caused.
Niantic addresses server issues and extends the event
Niantic Support X, the official support account, confirmed the resolution of server issues in a tweet that stated, “Trainers, we have resolved server issues that were impacting Primal Kyogre Raid Day and have extended the event until 7:00 p.m. local time for all regions.” This announcement reassured trainers that the server issues were resolved and provided them with the opportunity to participate in the event for an extended time.
Trainers express frustration over lost items
Sadly, the server issues affected not only the ability to play but also caused some trainers to lose valuable in-game items, such as Raid Passes, Lucky Eggs, and incense, due to the interruptions. Disappointed trainers voiced their frustrations on social media, citing the inconvenience of having to restart the event after returning home.
Concerns regarding compensation for affected trainers
Trainers who lost Remote Raid Passes as a result of the server issues have raised questions about potential compensation from Niantic. As of now, it is uncertain whether the company will offer any additional compensation to affected players.
