A proposal that “moves in the opposite direction from that of the rendering of justice” with the consequence of causing “justified questions”, the New Left called the recommendation of the prosecutor to acquit the main defendant of the case in Colonos, Ilias Michos, for the crime of pimping.
As it was underlined at the beginning “we, like the whole society, are following with great attention the stinking case of the pimping ring in Colonos. A case with a victim of a minor girl”.
That is why, according to the New Left, “citizens demand the obvious. Justice and vindication for a minor girl who experienced an unspeakable torture of duration. Torture that he continues to experience mentally all this time.”
“We are waiting for the court’s decision,” continued the newly formed party, noting that “we cannot, however, comment that the prosecutor’s proposal moves in the opposite direction of justice. The evidence, the statements and what the underage girl’s advocates have documented conflict with the proposal made by the prosecutor and create justified questions as well as anger.”
“We are watching with concern but also with the expectation that the judiciary will do its job. To punish the actual perpetrators according to their guilt and the gravity of their crime as required by the rule of law.
At the same time, however, we urgently request the support and protection of the minor from the state and its competent bodies” they concluded.
