Who was ‘Ecoloco’ in Bubble Odyssey?

Humberto Magaña was a reference in one of the most remembered children’s programs on Mexican television. His character, ‘Ecoloco’, was characterized by trying to truncate the plans and experiments of Professor Memelovsky and his team.

With the motto “Dirt, Garbage and Smog”, the ‘Ecoloco’ was responsible for contaminating the world left and right; in addition to promoting little care for the environment.

Odisea Burbujas was a series created by Silvia Roche and directed by Enrique Segoviano, who also produced and directed Chavo del Ocho. It should be noted that in its beginnings, this program was broadcast on the radio through the station XEW-AM during the 1970s. Each Saturday broadcast lasted four hours.

Six months after its first episode, given the success and reception of Odisea Burbujas, on July 22, 1979 it ‘jumped’ to television on channel 2 of Televisa.

From then until 1984, the series had interrupted episodes. In 2003, 26 new chapters were released, but with different performers.

The series had a playful intention and used to take up the names of scientists and historical figures as well as the curiosity and creativity of childhood with the presentation of Memelovsky’s inventions.

In addition to the emblematic scientist and inventor AG Memelovsky and the great antagonist ‘Ecoloco’, the characters that appeared recurrently in each chapter were: Patas Verdes, Mimoso Ratón, Mafafa Musguito and Pistachón Zig-Zag.
