The anger of Roma fans regarding the sexgate that is shaking Trigoria has been unleashed on social media. On users’ personal message boards, but above all on the club’s official profiles. The company’s choice not to post the statement on its Instagram, Facebook and X pages, which was made public on Friday afternoon only on the institutional website, seems to have been of no avail. Because the anger and disdain of many fans regarding the affair found an outlet in every single post from the Giallorossi club. Outrage spreads across the web.

by Marco Juric, Giuseppe Scarpa
The manifestation of this storm of negative comments that has overwhelmed the leaders of the Giallorossi team is a photo published on Instagram a few minutes after the “indicted” statement. “Bryan Cristante enters the top three”, reads the caption, with the clapping emoticon complimenting the footballer for his record of European appearances.
Sexgate, the employee accused by Rome: “Shocked by all this mud”
by Marco Juric, Giuseppe Scarpa
Under the post there are over 600 comments, only indignant regarding the dismissal of the employee. Starting from Silvia’s comment which received over 500 likes: «Solidarity with women revenge porn victim you fired, take action against those who spread the video without consent.” Vittoria’s message is of the same tone: «Here is another men’s team that rewards boys who break the law and trample on the dignity of women. How disgusting are you?”.
There is Lisa who asks for measures against the footballer allegedly guilty of the theft: «Shame on you. Name the player, fire him, make him pay damages and reinstate the girl. Although I doubt she would go back to work for such a sexist and bigoted company.”
Stolen intimate video, Roma’s defence: “The two employees were talking about work favours. And there is no sexism, both fired”
Just like Paola who writes “shame, instead of protecting the girl, protect that good boy of a footballer”. And finally Barbara who recalls football’s initiatives towards women: «Be sure to make a red mark on your face against violence against women».
A unanimous chorus of female closeness which, however, was also joined, indignant, by many men. «Solidarity with the fired girl», comment Paolo, Francesco, Luca and Andrea. Ferdinando was drier: «You were wrong».
But it’s not just Instagram and the post immediately following the press release that are filled with comments. For over a day there has been no image on Roma social media that doesn’t have dozens of comments on the story. There’s Stefano under the Europa League scoreboard: «Firing an employee for a video stolen from her cell phone by a Roma player, a player who didn’t receive any penalties. Roma should just be ashamed. It’s a disgusting story. If you don’t go back you will be guilty. Put an apology to her and his face on the board.”
Then Luca comments on the post relating to tickets for Roma-Milan: «In two moves you have ruined your reputation: shameful prices for tickets and you have not defended a worker and her partner who were victims of revenge porn, protecting a spoiled youth from the Primavera team» . Waiting to understand if today, during the match against Sassuolo, there will be other forms of dissent in the stands of the Olimpico.
