Kristine had already conquered the King’s Path and knew how physically and emotionally difficult the path was. For this reason, she admits that she was constantly worried about the other participants and did not even notice that she herself was going through these difficulties again.
“I only realized one evening after walking that it was difficult for me. Along with walking, we – the technical team – also have to work. I crawled into the tent and shivered. The full length of the King’s Trail is 450 kilometers, but the motley company will go along the northern section of the trail – from the village of Abisko to Nikkaloukta. It is about 120 kilometers in total. It is here that you can see the harsh Arctic landscape, small birch trees, glaciers and Sweden’s highest peak, Kebnekaisi.
The best time to hike here is the end of July and August, because then nature is still in full summer, the nights are not so cold and the weather in the harsh north is more predictable. The celebrity goes on the road in early September and hopes that the King will be gentle and friendly.
