Turkey’s position on the issue of non-recognition of the illegal annexation of the Crimean Peninsula and support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine remains unchanged. This is stated in a statement of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, issued today in connection with the tenth anniversary of the annexation of Crimea by Russia, quoted by the Anadolu Agency, BTA reported.
The Ministry recalls that 10 years have passed since the annexation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea by the Russian Federation on the basis of the illegitimate referendum on March 16, 2014.

“We will continue to closely monitor the development of events in Crimea and above all the situation of the Crimean Tatar Turks (Crimean Tatars – ed.), one of the most important constituent (communities) of the peninsula, as well as keep this in our priority agenda order,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
“We reaffirm our non-recognition of this factual situation, which essentially constitutes a violation of international law, as well as our support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine,” the ministry said.
