Lukáš has been working in fashion for about seven years, and it probably won’t surprise anyone that he also graduated from it. With the collection he created only in his second year, he even shone at the Prague Fashion Week. Despite the fact that he is becoming more and more successful and his models are so extraordinary that one immediately recognizes that they were created by his hands, the young designer remains humble and says that he has no “set ambitions”.
During our joint conversation, we were interested in what the difference is when creating pieces for fashion shows compared to costumes for modern ballet dancers. “It’s definitely specific… For dancers, it’s about the fact that the clothes shouldn’t restrict the dancer in often neck-breaking things – as we could see. This is different. The functionality here must be one hundred percent,” the talented designer explained to Topky.sk.

We also learned how the collaboration with Ján Ďurovčík came about. “When he approached me, we had a meeting with him telling me what he had an idea of what he wanted to do. After that, it went like that. I made some suggestions and according to the content guide that we told each other. Then it started to happen. I went to rehearsals, I looked at what the dancers were doing, how they were doing it, what it could look like,” continued Lukáš Krnáč.
In the interview, we also asked about Ďurovčík’s reaction when he saw the finished works, we were interested in which celebrity he works best with and what his ambitions are for the future. You can learn more in our interview and you can see the unique costumes created by Lukáš in the gallery.
