The sarong ‘war’ brawl incident occurred at around 00.30 WIB on Friday (15/3) yesterday. West Cikarang Police Chief, Commissioner Gurnald Patiran, said the brawl started with the victim’s invitation via WhatsApp message.
“Starting on Wednesday, March 13 2004, at around 22.38 WIB, the victim, brother AA, contacted brother NIR via the WhatsApp application with an invitation for a sarong war on Friday, March 15 2024, at around 24.00 WIB,” said Police Commissioner Gurnald to journalists, Saturday (16/16/2024). 3/2024).
He said NIR accepted the invitation to the ‘sarong war’ brawl. NIR invited his group to come to the appointment location and fight with the victim’s group.
“Brother NIR informed his friends to gather at Brother Z’s house,” he said.
Gurnald said that when NIR and his group arrived at the location of the brawl, the victim had not yet arrived. NIR and his group returned to the gathering location and left the place where they had promised to brawl.
“Next, Brother NIR and his friends left for the agreed place. After arriving at the crime scene, it turned out that the victim and his group had not yet arrived, so then Brother NIR and his group returned to the original place where they had gathered,” he said.
Gurnald said the perpetrator with the initials MAA then joined in the brawl with the NIR group. According to him, MAA carries a T-shaped shock lock.
“When he returned, the MAA perpetrator brought a T-shaped shock key and then left with NIR and his group to return to the agreed place, but it turned out that the victim and his group had already arrived, so a sarong war broke out,” he said.
He said MAA swung the shock lock at the victim’s head three times during the brawl. The swing caused injuries to the victim’s head, causing the victim to fall down and become unconscious.
“However, because the victims were outnumbered and the NIR group of brothers released firecrackers, the victim and his group ran away, but because the victim was at the back and close to the MAA perpetrator who was carrying a T-shaped shock lock, the MAA perpetrator swung the object at the victim’s head 3 times. several times resulting in serious injuries to the victim’s head and the victim lying unconscious,” he explained.
According to Gurnald, MAA, NIR and their group then fled and left the victim. He said the victim was rushed to hospital but unfortunately his life could not be saved.
“Knowing this, Brother NIR and his group left the victim at the scene, then the victim was taken by friends of the victim’s group, who according to information from the victim’s friends, was assisted by an online motorcycle taxi whose name is unknown to Adam Talib Hospital,” he added.
