BMW M3 MT Final Edition: Japan Bids Farewell to Three-Pedal Models

BMW has developed a special version of the M3 MT Final Edition for the Japanese market, marking a farewell to the three-pedal models.

The manual transmission is slowly going out of business and it’s only a matter of time before the three pedal models disappear altogether. The latest example is Japan, where BMW is saying goodbye to this type of transmission with the 150-unit M3 MT Final Edition.

MT stands for Manual Transmission and each of the 150 copies is equipped with three pedals and a manual gearbox, which works in combination with a three-liter twinturbo inline six-cylinder engine.

All cars get gold alloy wheel rims and decorations in BMW M colours, a tribute to racer Roberto Ravalja’s victory in the DTM championship 35 years ago.

It is known that the price of the special version will be 14,200,000 yen, which is about 88,000 euros, all cars have the steering wheel on the right, and in the choice of colors – 50 units of Alpine White, Black Sapphire and M Brooklyn Grey.

According to de.motor, in Germany, BMW offers only six models with a manual gearbox, and they are: 1-series, 2-series Gran Coupe, M2, M3, M4 and Z4.
