Heading into today’s race, Diggins led by 41 points over Svahn. The American finished fifth and received 80 points. Svahn got 46 points.
– It felt good and I’m surprised by the back times I got, I don’t think they match my effort and the skis may not have been a perfect hit. It wasn’t that day today and it’s sad, says Svahn to SVT Sport.
Ahead of tomorrow’s final 20 km free mass start, Svahn is 75 points behind leader Diggins. In total, with maximum points, you can get 130 points tomorrow. If Diggins is among the top 13, she will take home the overall World Cup tomorrow.
The chances of a historic Swedish victory in the overall World Cup have become small. Svahn tells us that she will load up for tomorrow’s race with buns and pizza.
Sundling: “Has a good form”
It was double Finnish with Kerttu Niskanen winning four seconds ahead of Johanna Matintalo. Jonna Sundling had a strong finish and secured third place.
– I made it work and had good skiing in difficult conditions. It feels like I’m in good shape, says Sundling, who rested from Tuesday’s sprint in Drammen after being tired after the Holmenkollen five-mile.
Frida Karlsson lost close contact quite quickly.
– It was really bad and I feel that I have to struggle and had quite a lot of rough under the skis, says Karlsson, who finished first in 14th place.
She says that she feels tired, not least since the discharge in Holmenkollen’s five-mile race.
