The city of Cienfuegos witnessed an unusual event that took many by surprise on the afternoon of Tuesday, March 12, when a young man used a machete to destroy the windows of a Castro government vehicle as a protest.
According to journalist Mario J. Pentón, the situation triggered a strong police mobilization, with which dozens of State Security agents went to the scene to subdue and arrest the young man.
Images shared by the communicator show the exact moment in which the young man is dragged to a patrol of the National Revolutionary Police (PNR), while the state vehicle with broken windows can be seen on one side of the scene.
“Everything went very fast. He arrived with a machete and began to attack the government car with his machetes. Immediately, the police came and arrested him,” a local resident told the journalist.
The same witness assured that, at the time of the attack, the young man was shouting several slogans against the Castro regime, making it clear that he was doing this as a protest against the current situation in which the Island finds itself due to poor management. of the government.
Another neighbor added that the event occurred at the same time as a critical general situation in the province of Cienfuegos, ensuring that popular discontent was increasing due to blackouts and food shortages.
“This is burning. People don’t give anymore. The hunger, the blackouts, the misery that exists in this town is terrible and the leaders are getting fatter every day.”
