Kottayam ∙ BDJS, a constituent party of the NDA, has also announced the candidates for the remaining two constituencies. Party president Tushar Vellappally will contest in Kottayam and Sangeeta Viswanathan in Idukki. Chalakudy and Mavelikkara candidates were announced last week. KA Unnikrishnan is contesting in Chalakudy and Baiju Kalashala in Mavelikkara.
Son of SNDP Yuga General Secretary and SN Trust Secretary Vellappally Natesan, Tushar is BDJS state president and NDA Kerala unit convener. He has served as SNDP Youth Movement State Chairman, SNDP Yuga Devaswom Secretary, SNDP Yuga Board of Directors Member and Guruvayur Devaswom Board Member. Currently holds the duties of SNDP Yuga Vice President and SN Trust Assistant Secretary. Political activity started through SFI. He is a well-known industrialist and rubber farmer.
In the last Lok Sabha elections, Tushar Vellappally contested against Rahul Gandhi in Wayanad. This time the Wayanad seat has been given away to the BJP and it is contesting in Kottayam. BDJS is contesting in Chalakudy instead of Alathur seat. Sangeeta Viswanathan, the candidate from Idukki, is the State Vice President of BDJS and Secretary of SNDP Yuga Women’s Sangam.
