At the outset, it is appropriate to mention that two new gaming laptops premiered at CES 2024 – smaller G14 and the larger G16. However, Asus is putting on sale only the second mentioned novelty with the number sixteen in the name. It is not yet clear when and at what price the fourteen will be offered.
Model prices Zephyrus ROG G16 they start in the Czech Republic at 71,490 CZK, but the top version is offered for more than a hundred thousand crowns – specifically for 101,990 CZK. For this sum, however, prospective buyers will essentially get the most powerful components that can currently be installed in portable computers.

Compact dimensions
The first thing that catches your eye about these new products is probably their compact dimensions. As the name suggests, the Zephyrus G14 and G16 differ in display size – the smaller is 14 inches, and the larger is, unsurprisingly, 16. In both cases, however, these are very powerful machines that will satisfy even demanding gamers, content creators and designers.
Considering the performance offered, the proportions of both novelties seem almost unreal. The G14 model is just 1.59cm thin and weighs 1.5kg, while the G16 variant has a profile as thin as 1.49cm and weighs 1.85kg.

Redesigned chassis
The machines can be so thin thanks to the fact that they have a redesigned chassis made of aluminum, which is strong enough even with smaller thicknesses. In this case, it really succeeded in combining high performance with an elegant appearance.
The Zephyrus G14 and G16 will be available in Eclipse Gray and Platinum White colors. The chassis features Slash Lighting’s signature LED strip.
The news deserves to be highlighted also because of the screen, as it now boasts advanced OLED panels. Specifically, the Zephyrus G14 boasts a monitor with 3K resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The Zephyrus G16 features a 2.5K display with a 240Hz refresh rate.
Both models feature a 16:10 aspect ratio, VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification and a stunning 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio.

Top performance
The manufacturer did not forget to work on the quality of sound reproduction. Hi-Res Audio and Dolby Atmos technologies increase sound quality, and integrated HD cameras serve for smooth online communication.
The configuration options are very wide. It includes G14 models up to the AMD Ryzen 9 8940H processor, in the case of the G16 version, the top of the range is the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H chip. Both laptops use Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics cards.
