President Bernardo Arévalo reported that he hopes to present the first phase of the metro project in 2027. “We hope to inaugurate the first phase of the underground metro in mid-2027, it is a quite complex and difficult project, but we trust that it will be so.”
The president indicated that a public-private alliance is being analyzed for the same.

About the meeting
The Chief Executive reported that yesterday he held a meeting to address this issue with representatives of the World Bank, the National Agency for Alliances for the Development of Economic Infrastructure (ANADIE) and the Ministry of Public Finance.
“There is a World Bank mission in Guatemala that is accompanying us in the design and management of the metro that Guatemala is going to have. “We already started to analyze it and they gave him his first report and the first elements.”
The president highlighted that the good news is that he already has a schedule for the project, which already has research studies.
“ANADIE presented the prefeasibility studies, which is why the Government supports continuing with these studies.”
Meanwhile, the World Bank will be the technical and financial advisor for a project that will be public-private.

The underground metro in Guatemala
ANADIEthrough its official website, reported that this project is updating studies for the feasibility process and prequalification of investors.
