Last night Joost Klein performed in Tilburg and the audience was given strict conditions: no telephones were allowed into the hall. That was for a reason, Katja says. And it wasn’t because they were afraid of Mia and Dion scenes. “No, that doesn’t happen with Joost Klein,” Katja responds. “There were already rumors in advance whether something would be recorded for the Eurovision Song Contest itself.”
‘I need your help’
That may well have been the case, because a camera crew was also present at the performance. “Joost has also done Europapa twice,” Katja explains. “Once at the beginning and once somewhere halfway through the set. Then he said, ‘Guys, I want to do something, but I need your help. So he asked for the audience’s help and gave very clear instructions. He wanted a mosh pit and said: “Then don’t touch me. Because we want to try something and we have to see if this will work.”
For the postcard?
While Joost Europapa sang again, he gave the audience instructions in between. “He said: ‘That circle has to be wider, you have to run.’ I had a tiny bit of a view of it, I saw his head in the mosh pit,” Saskia explains. What exactly will these recordings be used for? AVROTROS denies that these are for the Eurovision Song Contest itself, but that is rumored. “There were rumors on the floor that this might be for the postcard, the introduction video that you see for the song at the Eurovision Song Contest. But you could also think of visuals used during the stage act.”
