GIANYAR, INFO-PAS – As an effort to detect and anticipate ensuring inmates are free from the HIV/AIDS virus, the Gianyar Detention Center together with the Gianyar I Community Health Center conducted Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) for inmates. This activity is carried out for inmates, considering that they are included in a group that is vulnerable to infection. (15/3)
Gianyar Prison Doctor, I Wayan Hartadi Noor, said that this activity was one of the early detection steps in ensuring that inmates are free from HIV/AIDS. This is also a preventive effort to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS as well as a concrete manifestation of Gianyar Detention Center’s commitment to ensuring the health of existing inmates.
“The Gianyar Detention Center is currently inhabited by inmates from various backgrounds. This condition makes them quite vulnerable to the potential for transmission of the disease. So we are collaborating with the Gianyar I Community Health Center to carry out Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) for 53 inmates as an effort to prevent the spread of the HIV virus/ AIDS in Gianyar Detention Center.” Explained I Wayan Hartadi Noor.
Head of the Gianyar Detention Center, Agung Hascahyo, expressed his gratitude to the Gianyar I Community Health Center for its synergy in holding Mobile Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) activities for inmates at the Gianyar Detention Center. He also appealed to all inmates to participate in the activities in an orderly manner.
“We would like to thank the Gianyar I Community Health Center for taking action to prevent and control HIV/AIDS for inmates at the Gianyar Detention Center, therefore I also urge all inmates to take part in this activity in an orderly manner until it is finished,” said Agung Hascahyo.
