The Cuban reggaeton artists Dany Ome and Kevincito El 13 continue in the midst of controversy for their trip to Cuba, in which they will not only perform live, but also recorded a music video in the streets of Havana.
This Friday, March 8, a group of followers gathered to witness the filming and enjoy the atmosphere of the production during the recording of the singers’ next video clip. The singers arrived on the island this Thursday, in the midst of controversy over returning after 12 years of exile.
His colleague, Yomil Hidalgo, even shared images of the filming on his Instagram profile, highlighting the energy and enthusiasm of the crowd present, in a video where the great scandal can be seen.
“Because from whom God gave it, we take it away. The vibes of our people are unique. Tell me Dany Ome and Kevincito On the 13th, this got out of hand,” he wrote.
During filming, Yomil was seen carrying the boy Rutina, a child artist from Key West, who has caused a great sensation on social networks for his Yoruba singing.
However, all the hype of the recording has not been able to remove the questions that, from exile, have fallen on the urban duet, since both to perform live and to record material, either, on the streets of Cuba, it is necessary be in good relations with the Cuban dictatorship.
The truth is that the singers have not been discreet in this regard, sharing every moment of their stay on the island through their social networks, including the presumption of certain privileges that ordinary people clearly lack.
And the singers have not been seen at all in lines to buy food, and far from suffering from the scarcity that is normal on the Island, they have walked around showing off their luxuries in the streets of a country where 90% of the population lives in extreme poverty.
In one of their latest videos, the reggaeton artists appear driving luxury cars, which several users consider unnecessary ostentation considering where they are, because they also stressed that they are aware that this is not common in the country.
“The only Mercedes (Benz) 63 in Havana,” Dany Ome happily declared while riding in the luxurious white van.
“I like their music, but seeing this disappointed me”; “That the people there are dying of hunger, that the police torture the people, that the politicians steal everything, it doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters to Cubans is showing that they live better than the people”; “Instead of coming with some medicine and donating it to a hospital, they come with a concert,” were some of the comments.
The truth is that although the couple has defended themselves by stating that they want to bring their music “to Cubans on the Island,” none of their concerts will be free, and it is likely that they will be in bars in Havana, where ordinary Cubans cannot. They can’t pay their way in at all.
In addition to the above, during the recording the controversial Santiago Rivero, better known as Santy Ogbetua, could also be seen, which caused the fans’ anger and ridicule, accusing them of “snitches” and “speculators.”
