District Prosecutor’s Office-Burgas delivered the Syrian citizen Omar Adnan to court.

He is accused of violating traffic rules while driving a passenger bus, resulting in an accident with a police vehicle, thereby intentionally causing the death of two police officers in the vehicle.

The crime was committed on August 25, 2022 in the city of Burgas.

It is qualified under Art. 342, paragraph 3, b. “in”, alt. second, paragraph 1, proposal three of the Criminal Code, paragraph 21, paragraph 2, paragraph 1, paragraph 1, article 103 of the Personal Data Protection Act, article 47, paragraph 3 of the Personal Data Protection Act, as the case is particularly severe.

During the investigation, it was established that the accused was driving a passenger bus in which another 48 foreign citizens were traveling, 47 of whom boarded the bus on the evening of 24.08.2022 in a wooded area in the area of ​​the town of Malko Tarnovo.

They entered Bulgarian territory in violation of the law.

The vehicle was moving in the direction of the city of Burgas, and on its way, Omar did not obey twice signals given with a “stop” baton by officers from the Malko Tarnovo GPU and the Burgas GPU. Once at the Krushevets checkpoint and once at the Poda checkpoint.

Omar has repeatedly disobeyed signals given by a police car chasing the bus in its movement to and in the city of Burgas.

After the bus entered the city of Burgas, the officers from the “Border Police” contacted their colleagues from the Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – Burgas to warn about the oncoming bus.

The patrol of police officers J.I. was the first to respond to the signal. and A.G. Their car was equipped with all the necessary requisites and had its lights on.

The police officers were at the intersection with the “Trapezitsa” roundabout to stop the passenger bus.

Instead of stopping the bus smoothly in the far right part of the traffic lane, Omar continued to drive the vehicle at an excessive speed of about 78 km/h, entering the roundabout in order to avoid stopping the bus, resulting in a traffic accident. accident with the police car and intentionally caused the death of Y.I. and A.G.

It has been established that the maximum permitted speed for passing through the roundabout is 40 km/h.

The District Court-Burgas is yet to schedule a date and starting time for its session.
