Cuban reggaeton singer Luis Javier Prieto Cedeño, better known as Jakarta, was recently arrested by Florida authorities, thus adding one more arrest to his long history in the United States.
According to Miami-Dade County police records, the urban music singer was arrested last Sunday, March 10, accused of charges of fraudulent possession of five or more identities, third-degree theft, and burglary. .
At the moment, no further details have been released about his arrest, but the charges against the reggaeton player make it clear that he is involved in fraudulent activities, as he was arrested with at least five false identifications on his person.
On social networks, some profiles have echoed the news, with several Internet users pointing out that they did not know that he was free after his last arrest in 2023.
Previous arrests
The singer was arrested April last year, when Miami-Dade authorities accused him of burglary of property. Since then, nothing more had been heard from the singer, at least from an artistic point of view.
On that occasion, it was learned that the reggaeton singer’s arrest was due to a robbery committed in an unoccupied home, a crime for which he was also arrested on August 31, 2021after he was recorded by a security camera entering a home and taking a package before fleeing on a bicycle.
That year, the Hialeah city police managed to locate him and transfer him to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center (TGKCC) where he was placed on bail of $5,000 after he confessed to his crime.
Additionally, the reggaeton singer was also arrested in 2019, although on that occasion he was arrested in Boca de Raton, Florida, on alleged charges of domestic violence.
Jakarta made a name for himself in Cuba thanks to his music, this as part of the popular duo Chacal and Jakarta, but after their separation in 2016, Prieto Cedeño traveled to Miami, where he was no longer heard from except for his occasional altercations with the law.
