The egg supplier Den Stolte Hane is asking the Oslo district court to order Nortura to immediately supply enough eggs, reports E24.
– We fear that there will be far too few eggs for Easter and that we risk empty shop shelves at all grocery chains if action is not taken immediately, says Harald Kristiansen, director of communications at Coop, to the newspaper.
Den Stolte Hane delivers eggs to Coop, and has requested that the case be dealt with in court as a temporary injunction. That is, an emergency decision that applies until a final court decision.

Nortura fears the egg shortage could last until Easter
The supplier believes the matter is urgent since Easter is approaching. As early as Friday, the case will be heard in the Oslo District Court.
Nortura will not comment on the lawsuit, but confirms that it is about how the regulation is interpreted.
– The matter is about how the regulation should be understood. We have carried out a new legal assessment of our understanding and firmly believe that we have followed the regulation in line with the intentions of the legislator, writes communications manager Matilda Aronsson at Nortura in an email to Aftenposten.
It is Nortura that distributes the eggs to all players in the market, including to its own factory.
