Neuroscientist Robert Love reported this on his social network account, citing a study conducted in France. We are talking about aspartame, a common sugar substitute.
According to the expert, an increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes is not the only negative consequence of taking aspartame. The sweetener also impairs memory and increases the risk of stroke and Alzheimer’s disease.
Dr. Love recommends replacing sugar with natural fruits. Safe alternatives to it are the sweeteners stevia and allulose.
