The fact that Skull and Bones has already received a large promotion in the boxed version only 3 weeks after its release in the UK could indicate that Ubisoft’s novelty is not as popular as the publisher hoped. There are further signals pointing to such conclusions.
Skull and Bones is not doing well, which was certainly due to the poor ratings in the first reviews (the game barely broke the average of 6.0/10 on Opencritic). According to official Xbox data, Skull and Bones was at the bottom of the list of the most frequently played titles available on Xbox on March 9. Currently, a new production from Ubisoft dropped out altogether this rankingwhich contains 49 items and was overtaken by much older projects such as Elden Ring, Fallout 4 or Call of Duty: Black Ops III.

According to data available to TrueAchievements, the number of players playing Skull and Bones on Xbox has decreased by as much as 31% after 2 weeks after the premiere.
Apart from the low ratings, the problem with Skull and Bones is certainly the exorbitant price. Ubisoft’s CEO has stated that the pirate adventure is a “AAAA” budget endeavor, which is supposed to justify the game’s price, but reviewers don’t have the same opinion about the quality of Skull and Bones. An additional problem of the game is some technical problems, such as sporadic ones Game crashes on XSX/XSS. The last major update was supposed to finally solve this problem, but unfortunately the problem still persists.
Ubisoft intends to fight for Skull and Bones – many new features will be added to the game soon. The first free content delivery is already behind us.
