In the Bern Riding School, in a former horse stable, visitors will find an unusual cinema with a bar as a meeting place. We want to make different cinema: bring political and politicizing films to the screen. Making cinema differently means having stories told by people who have something to do with us, who show the social conditions and entanglements in which they are caught and how they deal with them. Stories with contradictions that cannot easily be brushed aside. But doing different cinema also means getting involved in experimental forms of film, exposing yourself to being unsettled by something new, strange and unusual. We look for films that cannot be seen in commercial cinemas or those that can only be discovered at festivals.
