“Leonid Volkov was just attacked in front of his house. Someone broke the car window and sprayed tear gas in his eyes, and then the assailant started hitting Leonid with a hammer,” Navalny’s press secretary Kira Jarmish said. “Leonid is currently at home, the police and an ambulance are coming to him.”

When Volkov drove up to the house, “unknown people broke the driver’s window of the car with a hammer and sprayed gas in his eyes,” Yarmish said. “He started to fight back with the car door and his legs. That’s why he hit him where he hit – on his legs”.
Journalist Sergej Parkhomenko said that Volkov lives in a summer house village in the capital of Lithuania, Vilnius.
“So this is not a random street hooligan or robber. This is a person who went there specifically to attack Volkov,” the journalist wrote.
The attack on Volkov happened a few days before the Russian presidential elections, which will be held from March 15 to 17. Navalny’s team invites you to participate in the “Lunch against Putin” campaign, which requires that those who plan to vote against Putin in the elections, come to the polling stations at the same time – on March 17 at 12 noon.
Navalny supported this action. After the politician’s death, his associates called this action “Alexei Navalny’s political testament.”
