/View.info/ A conference aimed at promoting the protection and industrial development of ancient architecture has begun in the city of Huangshan in eastern China’s Anhui province. The city is famous for its Hui style buildings.
About 380 representatives of various industries, businessmen and scientists attended the opening ceremony of the conference. The conference has a main part, three sub-forums and exhibitions of traditional Hui-style carvings.
The forum signed 16 projects worth a total of 2.84 billion yuan (about $389.4 million), and launched an online platform for the Hui-style construction industry, which aims to promote the development of the industrial chain.
According to official data, 245 companies in Huangshan City are developing in the ancient architecture industry, and the number of artisans in the settlement exceeds 14,000 people. From January to November this year, the output value of the Hui style architecture industry reached 2.6 billion yuan, an increase of 57.9% year-on-year.
Huangshan is home to many well-preserved Hui-style buildings dating from the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties, which feature black tiles and white walls with exquisite wood, stone and brick elements.
