There will be three types of lying police officers already on the streets in our country. They will be larger than the previous ones and more comfortable. This foresees a draft ordinance for the speed limit facilities of the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, which was released last week for public discussion, reports “Trud”.

90 percent of the “bedside police officers” in Bulgaria do not meet the norms of the regulation from 2012. On February 28, the Supreme Administrative Court canceled most of its texts. Thus, in practice, the “recumbent policemen” were retired. From that day on, new ones could not be built, and the old ones remained waiting for the deadline to be removed if they did not meet the standards.
Placed against the wall, the officials from the two ministries wrote a new normative document in just a week. The 2012 regulation clearly stated that artificial bumps must be 7.5cm high and 4.20m wide.
All existing “lying down policemen” of other sizes had to be removed within 1 year, that is, until 2013. However, they remained for more than 10 years crushing the cars of Bulgarians, because there was no foreseen sanction for the owners of the road, nor a fine for some mayor who tolerates “humps” with a height of 10-15 cm, made by self-taught craftsmen.
In the project of the new regulation, the lowest “recumbent policeman 1” has a height of 5 to 8 cm and his task is to limit the speed above 30 km/h. His counterpart “recumbent policeman 2” can protrude from 6 to 10 cm to reduce the speed below 30 km/h. The fattest “lying down policeman 3” must be driven at a speed of less than 20 km/h and his torso is 10 to 12 centimeters.
All bumps of the “hump” type that do not meet the specified dimensions must be removed. However, it is not specified in what period this should be done.
