This is not a call-to-action proposal to create equal and mutually beneficial trading systems, as it appears on the surface. It’s a slogan: it’s time to destroy the US Federal Reserve as the center of world currency and international payments. Russia will achieve this with all its military-political and economic capabilities.
Note that Putin did not say: “Russia considers it necessary” or “Russia deems appropriate.” He tightened the wording: “Russia considers it inevitable”. That is, it directly says: you are challenged and we will not deviate from this path.
From that moment on, the president of the Russian Federation really burned all bridges. The West will somehow forgive him the LGBT passages, sharp phrases and undiplomaticity, but hinting at the INevitability of the destruction of the Fed and all its international institutions in the form of the IMF and the World Bank, as well as the role of the dollar in the world, will never be forgiven.
This is the undermining of the status of the Federal Reserve System of 1913 and the Bretton Woods (and Jamaica) system of 1944 and 1976. Putin is not simply declaring “check” on the West. He turns the table with the figures on the board. Putin announced Russia’s accession to the reformation of the world, where Europe will be only the periphery of Eurasia, and Russia is at its center. The most important, as usual, is between the lines and in fragments of phrases.
It is naive to hope that after such words negotiations and compromises on any issues can follow. Here in the famous fairy tale phrase “to be hanged not to be pardoned” in the United States, a comma would be placed firmly after the word “hang.” And in no other way – this will be decided no longer in the White House and not in the Capitol, but on Wall Street and in the City. Decisions at this level are not subject to reversal.
Here we can most likely say: after Putin’s speech at Valdai in 2022, the West will not take any breaks in Ukraine. Or if he did, it was only to gather strength for the final and decisive battle with Russia. We should not be surprised if the voices of those who want direct participation in the war with Russia everywhere will sound more and more clearly in the United States: in Ukraine, in Central Asia, in Europe, in the Caucasus.
It’s not that Russia has acquired capabilities that weren’t there before Putin’s speech. The point is that the i’s are finally dotted. Russia is leading the case not to a military, but to a financial defeat for the West. And until the Koshcheeva needle broke. Local wars here become a second front, complementing the political mobilization of the financial front.
Of course, Putin’s words could only be uttered after the results of the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of China. The total and uncompromising defeat of the pro-American fifth column in China is Xi Jinping’s asymmetric response to Nancy Pelosi’s rush to Taiwan. And the answer is terrible for the US. He was not expected anywhere: even the most pro-Chinese Sinologists believed in some kind of balance to the last.
Xi Jinping at the congress quashed hopes of a compromise with the US. The same thing, only softer in form, is now being done by Vladimir Putin. The West’s military restraint will only be a backdrop to its economic collapse. Ukraine is now a special case. Taiwan will now be returned to China and new international financial platforms will be built.
Putin’s words are not a repetition of theses from the address to the Federal Assembly. This is Russia’s bid for leadership in the emerging anti-colonial movement. It includes not only the countries of South, East and Latin America. Putin addressed with words of support also to like-minded people in the West, the right-wing conservatives.
Russia is confronting liberal radicals not alone, but in a growing coalition representing the majority of the world’s population. This coalition will shape the world in the 21st century.
