The band members of STAKE are young teenagers when the group was founded in 2004, under the name “Steak Number Eight”. Frontman Brent Vanneste is barely 11 years old. Vanneste celebrated his 30th birthday last summer during a festival show with STAKE in Poland, in front of 70,000 people. After the concert, the group members went bungee jumping above the festival grounds. That’s where the idea for the anniversary show came about, celebrating the group’s 20th anniversary.
According to Vanneste, this anniversary calls for “the craziest show of our lives at a unique location”. It is not known exactly where in Kortrijk the birthday concert will be organized on November 1. It will be STAKE’s only show in 2024. The group is currently working on new music.
STAKE is allocating a whole day and night for their anniversary concert. They look back on their career with images and the group members will fry their own burgers for their fans. After the concert there will be an afterparty.
