Russian War Criminals Training to Become Governors and Leaders: The Dark Future of Russia’s New Elite

In Russia they decided to train governors and heads of state enterprises from the “heroes of the Northern Military District.” For this purpose, they launched a special website where war criminals can submit their applications. On the very first day, according to propagandists, there were 14 thousand people interested.

One can only imagine what kind of “new elite” this will be. In Russia, the number of crimes committed by Russian military personnel returning from the front is growing. The local press constantly talks about wild cases in which military personnel kill, maim, and rape civilians in the Russian outback. And often with impunity, since the police themselves are afraid of them.

Meanwhile, former prisoners who received a pardon for “feats of arms” are walking around schools, sharing memories, and educating the younger generation. Why aren’t Russian governors and top managers ideal?

Read more about this in the OBOZ.UA material.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the initiative to train governors and leaders from former SVO officers during his address to the Federal Assembly. He called them “the real elite,” “hard workers, warriors.”

If you believe Russian propagandists, then already on the first day of opening registration on the website of the new personnel project “Time of Heroes” there were 14 thousand applications from those who fought in Ukraine. War criminals now want to occupy high positions.

And although the terms of the program say that people with a criminal record cannot take part in it, most of the recruited prisoners received a pardon from the President of the Russian Federation. In this case, the criminal record is considered expunged. As for new crimes committed by SVO officers, the police and prosecutors often turn a blind eye to them.

According to the founder of the Sitting Rus’ Foundation, Olga Romanova, 50 thousand former prisoners who went through the war in Ukraine have been pardoned in the Russian Federation.

Among the candidates for a high position may be, for example, an ensign, a former member of the Military Military District, who beat a 10-year-old boy at a military sports camp in Novosibirsk. His mother said on social networks that the children were taken to the fields for training.

She entrusted a healthy child to the military man, and when she took him away, her son had a wound on his head and bruises on his body and under his eyes. The boy told his mother that this ensign beat him on the head with a stick in front of everyone for unfulfilled tasks.

Ilya Kulinich from the city of Shakhty, Rostov region, returned from the front without a leg. He got married, even municipal officials came to the wedding. And a couple of days later, a video appeared on the Internet in which he mocks his wife’s 1.5-year-old daughter.

Residents of the city demanded that the child be taken away from the family. But instead, the former military man received only an administrative punishment for beatings.

In Chelyabinsk, a participant in the war in Ukraine strangled his wife. After the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Nikita Sidorov voluntarily went to the front. And when he returned home, he liked to drink. As neighbors said, after a couple of glasses of alcohol, Sidorov lost the remnants of adequacy.

This time he celebrated February 23 for two days, came home at night on the 25th, but his wife did not let him in. Then the former military man climbed into the apartment through the balcony and killed his wife. At the same time, there was a 3-year-old son in the apartment.

Sidorov may not serve out his sentence, but will enlist again in the war, where he will also be able, as they say, to “wash away his guilt with blood” and still catch the “social elevator” from Putin.

There is a known case where a former SVO fighter severely beat his ex-wife. He broke the bones in her face and eye sockets, so doctors had to insert metal plates into the woman.

However, the “hero” did not suffer any punishment, since he provided rewards for the capture of Bakhmut. He got off with a fine of 5 thousand rubles. Also a good candidate for governor.

Nikita Semyanov is “touring” schools in Novosibirsk. He teaches lessons on courage, talks about exploits, and teaches patriotism. But his ex-wife said that back in 2021 Semyanov strangled her father.

He killed him in the garage because the man refused to take Semyanov somewhere, and then buried him at his summer cottage. He never served his term because he enlisted in the Northern Military District. Now the “hero” teaches children and may well enroll in the “elite personnel reserve.”

In Tomsk, several war criminals came to meet with students of the Pedagogical University. Among them is Dmitry Denisyuk, convicted of threatening to kill and robbery. Now he is a “role model” for future teachers.

And in the Kursk region, serviceman Sergei Kretov was detained for harassing schoolgirls. He sent them messages of a sexual nature via VK. If he gets out of it, he may well become an official.

As is the ex-prosecutor of Vorkuta Alexey Abramov. In 2020, he committed a drunken accident – he hit a student at a pedestrian crossing. The guy received serious injuries and was confined to a chair. And the prosecutor went to the SVO.

A month later he was wounded and returned. He is not going to pay 2.5 million rubles to the guy he crippled. “Having washed away his sins with blood,” he can now aspire to a high position. Moreover, the person is already experienced.

Applications from “heroes of the Northern Military District” will be accepted until April 8. Then they will have to write an essay, talk about their talents and share plans for how they want to improve life in their city or country. After online testing, the winners will be announced and they will begin to prepare them for leadership work.
