Hotel Silvanus in Visegrád posted a few pictures on Facebook about the Saturday fire: according to the photos, there is not much left of the roof structure that caught fire, and according to the signs, the fourth floor was also completely burned out. “Dear guests! We are in terrible hours! We are thankful that no one was injured. The fire was successfully stopped by the firefighting units! We would like to thank the fire brigade and all units (disaster management, rescuers, police, volunteers) for their persistent and tireless work, as well as the selfless and unconditional help of local caterers and hotels!” – they wrote to the pictures.
Saturday morning the Hotel Silvanus in Visegrád caught fire and burned down fourth floor and roof structure. Two hundred and thirty people were evacuated from the hotel in a short time, no one was injured in the fire. Firefighters from Esztergom, Szentendre, Szigetmonostor and Leányfalu also came to the scene, the units extinguished the flames raging on 200-300 square meters with fourteen water jets. The fire was contained and completely extinguished by the afternoon. At the time of the fire, 143 of their 151 rooms were rented out. According to the director of the hotel, Róbert Pintér, the fire was probably caused by an electrical problem.
It was built in 1970, a fire destroyed a hotel in Visegrád, famous for its panorama, already in 2008. Then the switch cabinet caught fire in the electrical distribution room, and then the fire spread to the laundry room on the first floor of the side wing.
