AIK got off to a dream start in the quarter-finals away to Mjällby. Already after eleven minutes, the team had scored two goals, through Rui Modesto and Omar Faraj.
Mjällby reduced the score a few minutes before the half-time break, after a penalty goal by Alexander Johansson, but AIK was then able to take a new two-goal lead.
Ioannis Pittas pushed in his own return, after Anton Salétros was responsible for a delicious preparation on the edge.
3–1 was the final result of the match and AIK is thus ready for the semi-finals.
– We are good defensively and that should not be underestimated. Nice to leave here with a victory, says Salétros to TV4 Play.
HBK ready for semi-finals
Earlier on Saturday, Halmstads BK won their quarter-final away against Brommapojkarna.
HBK made the match decisive 1–0 in extra time through Phil Ofosu-Ayeh. This after BP got Paya Pichkah sent off a few minutes earlier.
AIK will face either Djurgården or Degerfors in the semi-finals, while HBK will face the winner between Malmö FF and IFK Norrköping.
