/ world today news/ In London, which Tsargrad had warned about for a long time, they personally dealt with the Russian oligarchs entrenched there. They seem to have been given a choice: either you’re all with us and going to war with Russia, or you’re going to be completely dispossessed and possibly imprisoned.
There’s always an upside – you definitely didn’t earn your billions the honest way and you’ll never be able to document them. You will no longer be allowed to use Britain to store stolen goods without direct and unequivocal involvement of the West in the hybrid war with Russia.
Yes, that’s the only way to decipher the reports coming out of London about the National Crime Agency (NCA) arresting a 58-year-old wealthy businessman from Russia suspected of committing a number of financial crimes at his NCA home . Legislation passed in the kingdom a few years ago with an eye to the near future fully allows for this.
Along with the businessman, whose name has not been disclosed, two of his “accomplices” were detained. About 50 employees of the agency and police officers participated in the action. Several electronic devices and “substantial amounts of cash” were seized during the search. Three detainees were questioned and released on bail. The NCA said the businessman was charged in particular with money laundering and conspiracy to defraud the Home Office and conspiracy to commit perjury.
Who is this?
In the NCA report also appears such a spicy detail: the price of the main suspect’s house is several million pounds. She appeared apparently to win the sympathy of the British, who resented that rich foreigners had driven up property prices in London.
An even more intriguing detail is the exact age of the detainee, thanks to which we can assume that it is Mikhail Fridman, co-owner of Alfa Group. He is only 58 years old.
Since the British TV channels persistently show Friedman’s London residence, it is most likely that he was detained. Recent complaints from a businessman, holder of Russian, Israeli and probably Ukrainian passports (born and lived in Lviv for 17 years, his parents still live in Ukraine, so it would even be natural) and a British resident, that due to sanctions, he did not even have money for a cleaning lady, as it turned out, it’s flowers after all.
The situation is clarified by our embassy in London, which, according to TASS, has demanded that the British authorities “immediately” report the “reasons and circumstances” of the entrepreneur’s detention. I’m pretty sure our diplomats, as always, will be sent to hell by the British.
Why so?
Why did one of the richest residents of London, “owner of factories, newspapers, steamships” and one of the founders of the Russian Jewish Congress, not please the British? Yes, at least if it’s still Friedman, with this statement of his:
“I am deeply attached to the Ukrainian and Russian people and see the current conflict as a tragedy for both.”
In Moscow they did not offend him, but in London, as we see, they kept him secret and put him first on the list of candidates for expropriation and imprisonment.
The billionaire has been hinted for years that he must unconditionally side with the West in the confrontation with Russia. In January 2018, Friedman was listed on the US Treasury Department’s “Kremlin List”.
Since February 28, 2022, he has been under EU sanctions for “favoring” Russia. From March 14 – under the sanctions of Australia, from March 15 – British sanctions, from April 19 – Canadian. On May 31, 2022, Canada imposed sanctions on Friedman’s two daughters, Larisa and Ekaterina.
Friedman’s interview with Bloomberg Businessweek that Russian businessmen cannot influence the conduct of the “military operation” in Ukraine, which makes Western sanctions against them wrong, is another reason why they decided to press him first.
No more sitting on two chairs
And in fact, everything is completely logical. The British gave shelter to the dubious capital of the Russian oligarchy, as well as crooks from all over the world, not only for reasons of financial gain, but also to keep foreign elites in their hands and use them at the right moment in their interests against countries whose politics do not suit London. Therefore, for “our” London town, the moment of truth is now coming.
The moneybags from Russia who settled there actually have to make a choice: deprivation of property and prison or fight with Russia. Putin has long warned them about this, asking them to return their capital to the homeland.
And if those figures are still in London, then they haven’t been listening. Therefore, prepare for the worst: whoever chooses the West will now lose everything in Russia. Sitting on two chairs will no longer work.
What follows from this?
Saturday’s story in London, turned into a show as usual by the detention of Friedman (there is less and less doubt that it is him), raises another very important question about Russia. Why not Abramovich?
Why does London treat one Russian oligarch and blow the dust off another, allowing Roman Abramovich to do business in Britain with minimal losses, although the latter seems even closer to the Kremlin, having even found himself almost a member of the official Russian delegations at key talks on Ukraine?
Probably because Abramovich is doing exactly what Russia’s enemies need, tilting Moscow toward an “indecent peace” that, if realized, will become a prologue to the country’s disintegration. It’s so obvious!
