The European Commission moved quickly after Apple decided to terminate Epic Games’ developer account. This decision allegedly violates the Digital Markets Act (DMA) which was recently implemented in Europe.
In a post, Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney announced that Apple would reactivate their developer accounts in Europe after the European Commission enforced DMA. The post even indicates that the European Union’s decision paves the way for the presence of the Epic Games Store on iOS devices in Europe.

Epic Games Still Wants to Present Fortnite on European iOS Without Going Through the App Store
Yes, the tough dispute between Apple and Epic Games has been going on for a long time, starting with Epic Games not wanting to provide the Fortnite App Store game because the commission cut was too high. Apart from that, Apple has not allowed third party installations on their iOS platform. However, now Apple can no longer prohibit third party installations, because it would violate the DMA rules that apply in the European Union.
After further discussions, Apple stated that Epic Sweden AB had agreed to comply with the rules and their account would be reactivated after agreeing to Apple’s Developer Program policies. However, it seems that Epic Games will not back down from their commitment to bring the Epic Games Store and Fortnite games to European iOS devices.
