Biden Criticizes Netanyahu’s Handling of Gaza War: “Doing More Harm than Good to Israel”

US President Joe Biden said on Saturday evening that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is “doing more harm than good to Israel” with the way he is managing the war in Gaza.

In an interview with a local channel, Biden said, “Netanyahu has the right to defend Israel, but he must be more careful about the innocent lives lost due to the measures taken,” adding, “In my opinion, this harms Israel more than it benefits it.”

During the interview, the journalist asked Biden whether the possible Israeli attack on Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip constitutes a “red line.”

Biden replied, “This is a red line, but I will never abandon Israel. Defending Israel remains of the utmost importance. There is no red line within which I want to stop arms shipments completely, because then the Israelis will not be protected by the Iron Dome.”

Biden added, “There are red lines… It is not possible for another 30,000 Palestinians to die.”

On Friday, Biden said that Netanyahu should allow more aid into Gaza, after he was heard saying via an open microphone that he would have a “frank discussion” with the Israeli prime minister about the war in the Strip.

For several months, the Israeli occupation has launched a devastating aggression against the Gaza Strip, leaving tens of thousands of victims, most of them children and women, in addition to an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe and a noticeable deterioration in infrastructure and property, according to Palestinian and UN statements, which led to Israel being brought before the International Court of Justice on charges of committing “ Genocide”.
