KSP Main Expert Expert Ali Mochtar Ngabalin dismissed President Joko Widodo’s assessment (Jokowi) will be a stumbling block for the Chairman of the Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto run for re-election as Golkar chairman. Ngabalin also believes Jokowi will not join Golkar.
“I also don’t think Jokowi will go to Golkar, you will return to Solo as he has stated several times and I believe that,” said Ngabalin when contacted, Sunday (10/3/2024).
Ngabalin admitted that he knew Jokowi after 8 years at the Palace. Therefore, he believes Jokowi will be consistent with his statement.
“Throughout my approximately 8 years at the Palace, I know and understand Jokowi’s attitude and personality, consistent with what he says,” he said.
Furthermore, Ngabalin also believes that Airlangga will again be trusted to lead the yellow party with the banyan tree logo. He brought up Airlangga’s achievements in the 2024 elections.
“With the significant acquisition of seats and votes in this year’s election, the trust of cadres and members in Mas AH (Airlangga Hartarto) is very, very positive, that means Mas AH will be given an acclamation in the national meeting to lead Golkar again in the next 5 years, it feels like all members “The cadres really understand,” he said.
Jokowi is considered a ‘stumbling block’ by Airlangga Hartarto
Previously, the Director of Indonesian Political Parameters (PPI) Adi Prayitno assessed that Airlangga Hartarto was the strongest candidate because the vote results in the 2024 Election had increased. However, he mentioned a figure Jokowi as a stumbling block for Airlangga.
“Airlangga Hartarto is the strongest. His achievement was to drastically increase the votes for the 2024 legislative election. That is AH’s legacy which cannot be denied. It will not be easy for Golkar to face the 2024 elections because they do not have their own cadre champions, they are worried that they will not get a coattail effect. But in fact Golkar’s votes have gone far, ” said Adi Prayitno to journalists, Saturday (9/3).
However, said Adi, there has not been a Golkar chairman who has led for three periods. He called Golkar one of the big parties with unpredictable dynamics.
“But naturally, AH will probably face resistance at the end because there hasn’t been a Golkar chairmanship three times in a row. Now it might not be visible, but ahead of the national election there might be. This is Golkar, a big party which often creates unexpected dynamics,” he said. .
Furthermore, he said that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was rumored to be joining Golkar. Of course, according to him, Jokowi can match Airlangga.
“Moreover, recently there has been talk that Jokowi joining Golkar could change Golkar’s internal configuration. If that happens, Jokowi will become a stumbling block for AH,” he said.
