Already in Melodifestivalen 2023, the twin brothers were advance favorites with the contribution “Air”. But the competition against Loreen was too great and the brothers ended up in second place.
This year they have been at the top of the betting pages throughout the entire Melodifestivalen tour. Now the duo tells SVT how eager they are to win the final and compete in the Eurovision song contest.
– Imagine being able to represent Sweden – in Sweden! How sick that would be, say the brothers in chorus.
Love from the fans
The fact that Marcus & Martinus are tipped to win does not come at any price. The duo has previously told us that they feel pressure to deliver a good number.
But the love from the brothers’ large fan base encourages the brothers to keep delivering.
– To get so much support is absolutely insanely fantastic, they have been with us all the way, says one half of the duo Martinus Gunnarsen.
– This is the biggest thing we’ve done after the pandemic and the biggest thing we’ve done in our careers. Now we just cross our fingers and hope that it goes “all the way”, says Marcus Gunnarsen.
