Man Shot by Police After Stabbing Wife During Family Party in Queens, NYC

A man was shot to death by police after stabbing his wife and attacking NYPD officers during a family party last night in Queens.

The attack, which included a knife, happened shortly before 7 pm Friday in the stairwell of a 2nd floor in a building located on 62nd Ave near 102nd Street in Rego Park.

Sources close to the investigation say that the tragedy began during the festival of first birthday of a baby, when the suspect, the grandfather of the person celebrating, began to stab his wife for unknown reasons. She fled and ran down the hallway, screaming for help.
