Nearly a thousand new ATMs by the end of 2025: discover the locations here

Batopin, which runs the cash points, will have rolled out new ATMs at 970 locations by the end of next year. You can find those locations on the map below.

Using the map below, you can see where in your municipality an ATM may be added by the end of 2025 at the latest. Batopin is now halfway through the rollout of its network of cash points. Today, approximately 1,000 ATMs are in use at 400 locations in Belgium. A cash point opens every working day.

According to Jeroen Ghysel, CEO of Batopin, the network will have ATMs at 970 locations by the end of 2025. Batopin originally aimed for 750 locations, but that number was increased under pressure from politicians and the financial regulator. Batopin was criticized a few months ago because, when rolling out its cash points, it sometimes chose locations that deviated from the approved plan.

The new plan pays more attention to ATMs in small municipalities and sub-municipalities. Forty percent of the network will be housed there. “There will also be cash points at locations where there have been no ATMs for at least three years,” says Ghysel.

Cash is here to stay, he says. “One in three Belgians makes a purchase with cash at least once a week. Some people opt for cash to keep their budget under better control.” In December there is a peak in the demand for cash, because many people give money to children or grandchildren.

Rent out property

“Until now, Belgians have been used to withdrawing money from their bank branches and not everyone has the reflex to go to a cash point,” says Ghysel. Batopin invests 150 million euros in the cash points, not including the rent of the buildings.

Home owners can also apply to rent out a property to Batopin via the cash.be website. One of the requirements is that the building is suitable for disabled people.

In addition to the Batopin network, which is owned by the four major banks, smaller banks and the postal service also have their own network of ATMs.
