Another case of absolutely terrible food quality in the Czech Republic was recorded by the State Agricultural and Food Inspection. She issued an immediate warning about salami, which she came across in the Tesco sales network. However, it is likely that it was sold elsewhere.

“There were colonies of fungi of different colors on the surface of the food. In some of the inspected packages, the surface of the food was slimy,” said the SZPI to the address of salami, while reporting within the website Food on a sackcloth she also added expressive photos.
When you get to know them, you wonder how someone at Tesco got the idea to put these clearly moldy salamis on the shelves so that customers can still buy them there. Many must have done so, because they had no idea that such an objectionable food could be sold in a chain store.
“Unsuitable storage temperatures of this product were not detected during the inspection. The food did not have an expired minimum durability date,” added SZPI just to be sure. Paradoxically, if it were a question of problematic storage or an expired use-by date, the case would be clear and it would be a fault of one store.

How did this happen?
However, it must be assumed that the problem with the Pick Hungarian salami, which was also sold in a gift package, already came from production. Imagine giving something like this to someone as a gift. That would put you in a very awkward situation.

The salami in question was imported to us from Hungary and had a best before date of February 18, 2024. However, many people may still have it at home and prepare to eat it. But you’d better not do that, because the mold in question is really not a characteristic manifestation of the maturation of this product, but a proof that you have to throw it in the trash.
