The 16-year-old Turku boy who fired his revolver at another man in December systematically denied the attempted murder during police interrogations.
- The boy claimed to have aimed at the man’s feet and at the ground next to his feet.
- “My intention was to warn him and make him back off,” he stated.
- According to the 16-year-old, the bullet holes in the 19-year-old’s jacket are not the bullet holes he shot.
– I shot the gun at the ground/at his ankles. I tried to make him dance by shooting him next to the leg. My intention was to warn him, the boy told the interrogator.
According to the boy’s claim, the bullet hit the snowy ground and could have bounced off of it. He might have heard the clink of glass.
The teenager fired his .22-caliber revolver about ten meters away from the 19-year-old man from Helsinki. According to the prosecutor, the bullet pierced the 19-year-old’s coat.
The man had chased the boy from Kamppi’s long-distance bus terminal to Tennispalatsi and further out.
Moments earlier, at the bus terminal, the 19-year-old’s younger brother had offered the boy from Turku fake Subutex. The man from Turku refused to buy because the other 16-year-old was “shady” and because he immediately noticed that the packages did not look authentic.

Subutex prints in the library
The packages were actually chewing gum packages bought from Reimarla’s K-Market, with Subutex texts printed in Pitäjänmäki library glued to them.
The 16-year-old boy from Helsinki left the place with his tail between his legs to his older brother, who was waiting elsewhere in the Kamppi center.
According to what he said, the older brother suspected that the younger brother had gone crazy and went to the boy from Turku himself. The 19-year-old knew the boy had a lot of money because he had seen a picture of the bills.
The boy from Turku had responded to the sale announcement published by the Helsinki man on Telegram and sent a photo of the banknote bundle. There was no less than 2,453 euros in money.

However, the fake drug dealer from Helsinki did not know that the boy also had a real gun.
Quickly cocked his weapon
The Helsinki native was apparently trying to force deals. According to what he said, the man from Turku got scared of the man’s threat and ran away.
He ran out of the Kamppi center. The fake drug seller followed. Outside, the boy took out his gun and pulled the trigger of his revolver once or twice. The gun made a metallic sound.
The 19-year-old understood that there were no stakes in the gun, but on the other hand, he also understood that the gun was genuine. The now 19-year-old threatened that he also had a gun, although in fact there was none
The native of Turku ran Tennispalatsi to Finnkino and further out from there. Inside, in the corridor of the cinema, he had time to load the revolver with three cartridges taken from his thigh pocket.
Outside, the 19-year-old approached her again. At the same time, the man threatened the boy to shoot, shoot!
“I’ve heard a little bit about it”
The boy from Turku shot. According to his own claim, he aimed at the man’s feet.
According to the prosecutor, he shot at the upper body of the other man, because the 19-year-old’s jacket had obvious bullet entry and exit holes. Gunpowder residues were also found in the fabric.

– I am waiting for you to prove that it is the same lead that is in my cartridges, the boy stated to the interrogators.
– I’ve heard a bit of a story that this isn’t the first time this guy is jumping around with a bulletproof vest and this isn’t the first time he’s been shot at. I’ve heard that he always wears bulletproof vests everywhere, and I think that says a lot about the guy, the boy threatened during interrogation, according to the police’s preliminary investigation.
Bragged about his marksmanship
The boy, who turned 17 in January, is currently being charged in the Helsinki District Court with attempted murder, drug crime, firearms crime and causing danger.
The young accused of the attempted murder strongly denied it already during the interrogations. He claimed to be the victim himself. He had tried to resolve the threatening situation in such a way that no one would get hurt.
– I am the victim here. I asked the Finnkino employees to alert the police or security guards. I was not helped in the situation. I’m only guilty of emergency protection.
The boy boasted that he was a good shooter.
– If I wanted to hit him in the head, I would have.
When asked by his assistant how he would have proceeded if he really wanted to kill the man, the son replied that he would have fired all three bullets.
Caught in the hotel yard
The fake drug dealer from Helsinki is a very tough man, because right after the shot he had shouted to the boy that he was wearing a bulletproof vest. To this the boy would have shouted that next time he will shoot in the head.
The boy never fired another shot. From the tennis palace, he continued his escape to the Radisson SAS hotel. There he tried to get rid of his bag by hiding it under a car in the yard.
However, the police were already on the boy’s heels. He was arrested in the hotel yard. The police immediately found the bag as well.

No traces of a bullet impact were found on the 19-year-old’s protective vest. However, the young man claims that he felt a blow to his ribs.
The 19-year-old is accused of attempted robbery and attempted fraud.
I had to go back to Turku
The 16-year-old had come from Turku to Helsinki by bus a few hours earlier. According to his claim, he intended to return “to his hometown but not to his home” that evening and therefore stayed at the bus terminal. However, before leaving Helsinki, he responded to Subutex’s sales announcement.
He conveniently had cash with him.
However, according to the boy’s original claim, the money was not used for drug purchases. He was supposed to buy clothes from Tripla, but for some reason the clothes were not bought.
The boy claimed that the money was partly his own savings, partly from debts.
