Ministry of Health Extends Vaccination Center Hours in Santiago for Increased Coverage

This measure aims to facilitate access to vaccination against influenza and other respiratory diseases.

Minister Ximena Aguilera announced that as part of the winter campaign, The vaccination centers of the Ministry of Health (Minsal) in Santiago will extend their hours of attention to include Saturdays and Sundays.

Who should be vaccinated against COVID-19?

The prioritized groups for COVID-19 vaccination in the 2024 process are:

  • People over 60 years old
  • Immunocompromised patients
  • health workers
  • Pregnant women and people with chronic diseases.

According to the Minsal, this week the following workers joined the priority group:

  • Personnel of Armed Forces, Order and Security such as Carabineros, PDI, Gendarmerie, Army, Navy and Air Force
  • SENAPRED, CONAF and Firefighters officials
  • Census takers of the 2024 CENSUS
  • Caregivers and intra-home contacts of bedridden people.
  • Community pharmacy workers; of laboratories that carry out detection of SARS-CoV-2 and of the 24 ministries, of the Judiciary, Legislature, Regional Governments and Municipalities.
